Kids Love Salmon Fishing

My nieces and their two friends joined my sister Jenny, our friend Betsy, and me in the skiff for the first salmon opening of 2016. The weather was perfect and the kids were excited. No matter how many years I’ve been a fisherman, I always feel giddy with joy when I get to start fishing again each year, even though I’m calm and quiet on the outside. This glee from the children completely mirrors my own heart. I feel that this salmon fishing life I live is such a gift, and I’m so glad to have been able to share a piece of it with the little ones. I also love that I got to fish with my sister for a few days last summer, and that Betsy could share in the fun too. Thanks to Betsy for the video clip!
